The Proverbs 31 Man

Evil’s purest motivation is to create an upside-down world.

Good becomes evil, and evil good.

The natural becomes unnatural, and the unnatural is applauded as natural.

The confusing part about living in an upside-down world is what seems “traditional” may in fact be unnatural and contrary to God’s design.

Being “progressive” simply means replacing an older form of unatural with a newer form.

Once you get a few generations of depraved thinking, the youngest generation has no example of “normal” to emulate.

Take male-female relationships as an example.

Proverbs 31 is no doubt the most detailed and poetic description of a woman and her devotion to her man.

But in our upside-down world, we have abandoned the biblical ideal for women and replaced it with the Proverbs 31 man:

Where have all the good men gone?
He is worth more than a retirment.
His wife has full confidence in his income
and lacks nothing of value.
He does her good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
He buys her household convienences
and works with eager hands to pay for them.
He is like the merchant ships,
bringing in goods from afar.
He gets up while it is still night;
He provides food for his family.
He considers a house and buys it;
Out of his earnings he builds her estate.
He sets about his work vigorously;
His arms are strong for his tasks.
He sees that his trading is profitable,
and his lamp does not go out at night.
In his hand he holds the broom
and he is no stranger to household chores.
He opens his wallet to the poor
and extends his hands to the needy.
His wife is respected among the women
where she takes her seat among the matriarchs.
He watches over the affairs of his household;
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
His children arise and call him blessed;
her wife also, and she praises him:
“Many men do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
Charisma is deceptive, and good looks is fleeting;
but a man who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Honor him for all that his hands have done,
and let his work bring him praise in the churches.

Somewhere along the way, the world got turned upside down.
